OK, here goes. I am trying my hand at drawing *gasp* and would like some feedback. It would be a european supermini (like you couldn't guess by the thread name).
What are some elements you guys would like to see in a small city car? I have some ideas, but I would like to know what you have to say. People who acctually live in a place where superminis are sold, your help is greatly appreciated :] |

Well I dont currently live where superminis are a great bonus but I do have ideas anyway. First off, I would love to see a supermini where passengers actually have decent space rather than being all tangled up with the seats and so on - so well designed space is most important. You should also be able to see all corners of the car (ie easy to park and maneouvrve) and it should have heaploads of storage space....

I agree that those are important attributes; unfortunately in the real world we must consider the constraints of a relatively small space. There's only so much good use of space can do... drivers have to compromise on some things when they choose to drive such a small, economical car.
My own criteria would be style as much as effective space utilization and ergonomics. Too many cars like this are small, drab, and lifeless. Driving a small car shouldn't be a penalty, it shouldn't be stigmatized. Mini has shown that compact cars can be great drivers and fashionable, while still remaining relatively affordable. The world needs more of that. P.S. you'd better post this in the Automotive Design section when you finish. ![]() |
