In any case, It's a car, and the insurance will be cheap. Is there anything that I should be worried about or should know about it?
Thanks!

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but the main thing you have to worry about is that it is a Ford. Give yourself a chance at driving and having fun driving without the worry of breaking down more than usual.
Ford's are not good cars, get something else.

To be honest, the lady I bought it from only had 1 problem with it about 16,000 miles ago. And thats it. All I'm fixing is the wheel bearings, which every car eventually wears out (At least I think).
And to quell any rumors about being unsafe (If there were any) I present you this. Straight from the IIHS:

To me, this sounds like a very good car.

For a first car, the Taurus is great. Its reliable (enough) and safe for younger drivers.

how dare you say that so simply, you know what type of forum this is, to us its more than a car
but seriosuly congrats on the liscnce, and although its not JUST a car, i see what your referencing is to the fact any car is better than no car and i agree.
if i remember the GS meant it had the vulcan v6 in it which arent the most refined engine but they are apparently pretty solid nonetheless. how many miles does the car have? i know ive heard stories of sables (and tauruses) having gasket and head problems past about the 100 or 125k mark, but i dont know if that pertains just to duratec equipped cars, or just vulcan cars, or the whole line, plus as someone else also mentioned ive heard of tranny problems
again, congrats and i hope you can mange to get the car and that it proves itself trouble free, plus the fact its a wagon is awesome (no sarcasm), because fold down those back seats and you end up with a shaggin wagon

It has 115,000 miles on it.
We took it for a test drive, and it went pretty good. The only issue seems to be that a loud rumbling kept coming from the front right wheelwell. It has new tires. We're taking it to our mechanic tomorrow to get the final say on what it is. If it's a cheap fix, than this car will be mine by the weekend.

Check for rust in the firewall, in the spare wheel compartment, behind the wheels and in the inner face of the doors in particular. Make SURE there are no leaks at all. Push down each corner of the car and let go. It should bounce up once and stay there. If It bounces up and down again, that shock is worn out and needs a new one. Check for power steering noises, enjoy your car and post up pics!

My Mom wants to keep it for herself, they don't plan on replacing it till either the summer or when it dies. That WAS the original plan.

the sable sounds like a good choice; it's a good car, and i think was actually pretty competitive when it first came out. i don't think sables have any horror stories with reliability, consumer reports has continuously rated the sable/taurus highly (although apparently CR is evil so their ratings don't count for much )

I think I am going to purchase it. This will be my third major thing I've had to pay for (this, my iPod, and my NYC trip that is in like one week). I've been saving my money from my job (w00t for Shaw's), and I can pay for it all by myself. Hopefully the inspection goes well tomorrow.

So I ended up buying it (w00t)
$1500 + it needs $600 worth of work done
Works as in:
New Wheel Berrings
New Windshield (they found a small crack)
I'll probably have some pictures up friday or saturday.

if i were you id really go and turn this thing into a shaggin wagon, like a throw a futon in back get some 12 volt lava lamps (i dont know if these exist), curtains for the back windows, and like a wine cooler (okay maybe im going a bit too far, but i just really think a wine cooler would be bada$$)
you get the idea
