Thanks for posting this.
Have you read owners reviews on the VWvortex & other mag reviews I think you'll find out that the reliabilty is better than what Automobile & Road and Track magazines suggest.
Click the link I provided go to the Table of Contents link and have a proper read of all the reviews and problems and see how well they are handled http://forums.vwvortex.com/zeroforum?id=112
Any how good luck to you and you Father on your Final choice.

Don't underestimate the Vortex Media group. They really run a great bunch of sites and are generally excellent resources. While there is a bit of brand bias present at the respective sites, (VWVortex- Volkswagen, Mwerks- BMW, Tripple Zoom-Mazda, etc.), the overall knowledge pool is amazing and personal biases are kept in check since they all work together. Plus, as mentioned, the owners give reviews of their cars frequently on the forums, largely because they are so proud of their cars and want to brag. But you will also see that that is where they turn for advice when things go wrong with them. And most of the sub-forums have an FAQ section at the top where questions about part availability, problem areas, etc. are addressed. As I said, it is a huge knowledge base due to the number of users they have.
And as a disclaimer, I am in no way affiliated with any of those sites, so I am not trying to steer traffic in their direction. I have just been very satisfied with the ammount of information I have been able to find there over any other source.
And one more thing, will the Lexus LS460 be on sale in time to be considered?

That really depends. Does anyone know when it is coming out? (Like which month, not the season)
