My dad's working in Burma (Myanmar), but it's such a closed country, there's no news coming out. Luckily he's not on the coast, so he should be OK.

What I wonder, the US has made another coalition this time with japan, India and Australia. They suddenly declared that yesterday. But there was no mentioning of Europe, he only said other country's can join them. What's that all about

Thailand is known for it's amazing locations which have atracted foto-shoots for many magazine's and fashionhouses.
It seems Supermodel Petra Nemcova was on a shoot. She is in the hospital with a shattered pelvis and internal injuries.
Belgium now counts 3 dead: a 58j woman, and 2 baby's of 1j and 2 months
may their family get the support they need for these sad times.

I felt really sad now about this sinced yesterday, now there's more than 12,000 dead so far in 7 countries. I had to say this is the most tragic event since 9/11 2001 in America.

The images were just horrible. They're at arround 23,000 deaths now, many Asians but also tourists including 2 Belgians. I think there are many country's that have lost people. I even heared there were casualty's in Somalia
My uncle went to Thailand the day after. He's going to spend newyear there. But he'll be more up north, so I doubt he will notice much. Still not a very fun time to go there.
My thoughts are with the family and friends of those whose lives were lost.

Yes it is, there were over 1000 tourists from Finland there in Thailand and other countries
14 finnish people is reported dead and almoust 263 more is officially reported missing. and they say its most likely that oll of those missing persons are dead. over 700 people has came back to Finland and Finnair is convertig one of their planes to ambulanceplane and sending it to pick up those most injured finnish tourists.
300 tourists have reported via sms that they are OK, and finnish phone-operators are trying to track the phones of those who are still missing.

I don't want to dismiss how serious this is, i think it is a really sad thing, but... I found a cartoon, which i think is really great

In English it says:
WTC towers, 3000 deaths, war on terror
Tidal wave in Asia, 25000 (100000 in the mean while) deaths, what now are you going to do Bush?
War on nature? Oh, my mistake, you were already doing that
