Aw damn. I just saw his standup on comedy central a few weeks ago and thought he was hilarious. I was looking forward to hearing more from him...

Sad to see, not heard of him or seen him, must be a yank only thing? However to die so young, shame.

The clips I saw were just racism and sexism - did he actually have anything funny?

For those interested in the news report http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/30/ar...t-41.html?_r=1

Patrice O’Neal, a stand-up comedian who boisterously took on controversial topics like race, AIDS and his own struggle with diabetes, died on Tuesday. He was 41 and lived in New Jersey.

He died in a hospital in the New York City area from complications of a stroke he suffered on Oct. 19, his agent, Matt Frost, said.

“See, I’ve got to lose weight now to stay alive, and that’s not enough motivation for me,” Mr. O’Neal said in one of his television specials on Comedy Central.

He was hilarious. I just finished watching his stand up special on Comedy Central. It's a shame he died so young.

I found out he had diabetes during the roast of Charlie Sheen. I guess it was only a matter of time

He was a great comedian [thumbup]

He had a stroke.
Not surprising that he has diabetes and that doesn't mean he was going to die soon.

That's not exactly what I meant, but for someone of his size, having diabetes is a game changer. He said it himself

His doctor told him that he needed to lose weight if he wanted to live longer, but he said he wasnt motivated enough to lose the weight.
