Default Wire Management for Surround sound
Hey all,
I have a 7.1 surround sound system and I am replacing the stock wire with 16 gauge. Does anyone know a good speaker management system that I can use? I would like to hide the wires running to the rear speakers if possible.

I'd try with the wire first.. most likely you'll hear zero difference and save yourself a whole heap of wasted time hiding it away.

Is the room carpeted? I just pulled up the edges, used a router tool to make some channels and ran the cables around the room.

Not sure how I would do it without carpet though.

Buy a throw rug to go under the likely coffee table in front of the couch and use it plus couch to hide the wires. Other than that or carpet, you can string them along the edge of the room and use the baseboard to hid them. If that won't work, you are screwed... or, more accurately, wired.

Crawl space / basement? I went under the floor in my old house. Ceiling works too. As other said you could do under carpet as well, but cable hiding ain't so easy. In my apartment I just leave them messy. This place ain't big enough for my setup anyway.

I've used simple plastic channel (like 1.5 inch wide x 0.5 inch thick), and paint it with the same paint that the walls were painted. Run it along the trim. No one will notice.
