Default The Thing Prequel Trailer - *BARFS*
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8g2kASeEXUo

Seriously. Hollywood is the ****ing worst. Every ****ing movie out there is either a sequel or a remake of a movie.

The original movie was fine as it was and doesn't need a sequel or a prequel. Seriously, this movie looks ****ing AWFUL.

They obviously don't get it. The 1982 version was suspenseful because we didn't know who the monster was, or what they could do. So there was tension between the characters and their paranoid suspicions of each other.

Now we are already know what the monster can do so there isn't going to be a single bit of suspense. We will just sit there trying to guess who it could possibly be and knowing Hollywood, they won't do a very good job of hiding it. They are basically just giving us the SAME movie but calling it a prequel.

Not to mention, the director for this movie is some throw-away garbage that they simply attached to the project to tell him what to do.

Oh yeah, I also wanted to mention they will probably just CG the **** out of everything, when the first movie was awesome due to its realistic and grotesque looking characters.

"SOME OF US ARENT HUMAN" - Wow thanks for spelling it out for all the plebs! No subtlety necessary.

Remember: if you pay for a ticket and go watch the movie, Hollywood wins.

Why have a rule against trailers? You can almost always tell if a movie is going to suck from the trailers. One exception is "Midnight in Paris" which had a terrible trailer but turned out to be a pretty decent movie.

So that I watch the film without any preconceptions at all I guess.

As for **** films ? You can even tell them apart from the damn poster let alone the trailer.

Looks just like the original with better effects and terrible acting. Not only that but some stupid woman as the lead?

.
If you'd actually read anything about the production of the film, you'd know they are actually using animatronics in this remake also, and will use CG as little as possible.

Actually the original wasn't that well received, but later grew a cult following when times changed and film "fashion" warranted the Thing to be better received, ahead of its time so to speak.... Critics and write ups slated the plot and Carpenters filming, Infact from a critic point of view, I doubt it would have gotten a 60%. Pretty much what is being discussed here.

It wasn't till a good few years later that the cult following of the film made the film explode and was viewed with better light.

From my point of view, the trailer I watched wasn't so bad. The old trailer was equally as shite as this one. A female lead doesn't bother me, re: Alien and so on, it can work, and work well.

I've never seen The Thing.

There, I said it.

The small sections of the film that I have seen looked rubbish, so I never bothered.
