Default Heading To Sydney In a Month, Recommended Tourist Destinations?
A lady friend and I will be staying in Sydney for about a week. I know Little_Lenny lives in the area, perhaps you (or a few others) could get me up to speed on some good local hotspots, as well as some recommended must see locales.

Lenny lives in Melbourne (or is it Adelaide now, not sure, he gets around!). I live in Sydney though.

There are the usual hotspots: Darling Harbour, Opera House, the Bridge (which you can climb, but it's expensive), blah blah blah (I mean, it's not as if you can miss them anyway!)... but aside from the obvious parts I would recommend Bondi Beach for a taste of true beach culture here. Also check out the Sydney Tower and maybe have lunch/dinner in the restaurant up there. Taronga Zoo is pretty awesome if you want to see some of our crazy animals, and be up-to-speed on what can kill you and in how many seconds. The IMAX is great, as it is still the world's largest cinema screen and there's always some awesome flick on there.

Another good way to see the harbour is to go Jet Boating... those things are fast and fun, and you get to see a lot of sights as well. If you have to get anywhere around Sydney, you'd best be either walking it or catching a Ferry. That way you will get to see the most. Circular Quay (where mosto f the ferries dock) is also great for eating, as you can dine in a lot of places that have an unobstructed view of the Bridge, Opera House and the whole city. Gets anyone in the mood really .

Anyway, there's probably more, but you will find plenty of places once you're here. If you want anyone to show you around I will be happy to meet you in town one day and show you around. Just let me know.

Awesome, thanks! I forgot that you were the one in Sydney. We'll be staying at the Sydney Harbor Marriott, looks to have a pretty sweet view. Do you know if there are any commuter planes to Queensland? I wouldn't mind checking out the Great Barrier Reef, or perhaps snorkeling in the region and possible getting killed by a Box Jellyfish. [yes]

When I was there, I went to both Bondi Beach and also to Manly Beach via a boat from by the opera house. I found Manly beach to be way better than Bondi

That beach sounds right up my alley.

Let me preface this by saying I am drunk.

You should not go to Sydney and listen to Opeth instead.

I don't think it quite falls in the timetable, but a side trip to Melbourne for the F1 race would have been something to see - 25-27th March.
