Default I accidently ran over the lawnmover cable
Now it's in two halves. I was going to replace the whole cable, but Maplin's only equivalent cable has three cores where as the existing cable on has two (it appears to be the same size). But then I was thinking I could just attach a plug to one of the broken halves and a trailing socket to the other and then connect them up, which would be easier than replacing the whole cable. Which would be best?

Plug the old cord back in, stand in a puddle and connect them back together, simple really.

If it was me, I'd just connect up the ends, wrap each individual strand with insulating tape, and then wrap the whole cable together with lots of insulating tape. Should be good as new.

That sounds like a very bad idea.

I've been looking at the Maplin website and was thinking of getting these.

So long as everything is well insulated, there shouldn't be a problem with splicing them back together.

So what you want to do now is add those plugs to the cut ends? That should work.

Yeah.

I did a couple of edits of my previous post. At first I thought you were asking what a lawnmower cable was, then I thought you pointing out the spelling error which I only just noticed and edited it accordingly, then I saw you weren't so edited it again!

A bright Orange, easy to see cable that runs from the power point to the Lawnmower to power it.
