Now it's in two halves. I was going to replace the whole cable, but Maplin's only equivalent cable has three cores where as the existing cable on has two (it appears to be the same size). But then I was thinking I could just attach a plug to one of the broken halves and a trailing socket to the other and then connect them up, which would be easier than replacing the whole cable. Which would be best?

If it was me, I'd just connect up the ends, wrap each individual strand with insulating tape, and then wrap the whole cable together with lots of insulating tape. Should be good as new. I've been looking at the Maplin website and was thinking of getting these. |
