Default Time to get a new watch, would like to hear your opinions.
Just a BD present for myself, and about time I finally get another watch, after not wearing my titanium G-shock for quite a while.

So I'm torn between a black and white versions of a Nautica NCS 300 watch:

N15570G

N15568G

I'm leaning towards the white one myself, but would like to hear what the majority has to say!

I voted white, more clean and classic.

White is the new black!

Phosphorous or not, I'd still say that clock arms on White background are more readable in poor light conditions. [yes]

I dunno, it's possible during glare the white hands on a black background may be more readable. You can make out a silhouette of it. [xmassmile]

Can't really go wrong with either.

That's exactly the way I see it! The black one does look good too imo, but in black it looks more like 'just another watch', rather than the classic look I find in the white one...
Still a tough call though.

Thanks for your votes and opinions so far!

Neither.

But since that isn't an option, the white looks a lot less bad.

Since you seem to have already formed an opinion of your own, you have to ask yourself what's more important, what you think of the watch or what others think of it.

The white looks better, but the hands gets better contrast against the black. The white should have had black hands.

Get whichever one you want, but if it were up to me, I'd get the black one. It figures though, that my favorite watch is my a black-faced Seiko kinetic (black face and white-painted hands). I have a blue-faced Pulsar as well, which I do like and wear, but it isn't quite as easy to see. The contrast between the black face and the white-painted hands on my Seiko just makes it super-easy to read in just about any light condition. IMO, it really is all about being able to tell the time, and if I can't see it, there's really no point in me wearing it.
IMO, it would be nice if on the white one, the hands were painted black, at least at the edges. I would just find it a bit hard to read. It does look nice, though.

BTW, are you completely sold on Nautica? I'm a Seiko and Pulsar guy myself for the $100-$400 price range (I like Bulova's styling as well, but I can't vouch for them as I don't own any) and you can get them at great prices if you shop around. I'm not sure how the prices are where you are, though, but they tend to offer great quality at good prices.

I'm not all sold on Nautica's watches tbh. These watches I was looking at are going for around $100-$140 incl. shipping through ebay, but I really loved their style.
I'm always open for other things though, no matter how much i'm 'into it'...
I will look at these brands you've mentioned, there are countless options out there...

Thanks! [thumbup]
