http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m48vy...layer_embedded Would have been better to route all 24 cylinders int a giant freaking turbo. much lighter too. |

It's a 2 stroke engine. Engines that weigh half as much can make twice the power. 2 strokes have been turbo'd before but yeah its not optimal. I didn't watch enough of the video to hear that bit. But I still think the engine itself is little more than a conversation piece. There are better/cheaper ways to make that power. |

My point is that for all its size and weight there are engines out there that are far better at making that power level efficiently. Personally, I think the guy is an idiot but it's their money - IMO, he'd've been much better off with 2 or 4 14-71 top fuel blowers overdriven as the engine runs very slowly in comparison. That the blowers he was using were actually doing little work could be seen by the number being driven off a small drive cog. As it was supposedly being built for a show truck, any links to it, couldn't find one? |

How is that gonna fit in that semitruck? (edit: oh i google the truck...might fit) Also they did not say it is going to be placed in a stock factory built Peterbilt. The nose/cabin have to be adapted to this. IS is right, this is gonna be a show truk with a monster engine. [thumbup] |
