Given there is no link to enter my details, but I have to respond in a email makes me think it's a scam, who is going to enter data manually these days?

Also the 1116 in the email address is dodgy.

It's a scam right?

It's a load of crap for about a million reasons.

1) Hotmail wouldn't put the Microsoft corporate address at the bottom of an email
2) There are loads of grammatical errors
3) I doubt they would email you from a @hotmail.com email address
4) If they have enough of the database to restore the accounts then all they would need is your email address....which they just emailed you on.
5) Most importantly, Microsoft say it's a scam...http://windowslivehelp.com/thread.as...4-3dbb159e64b4

Any email that asks you to enter your password/online banking codes/etc. details is a SCAM. No reputable organisation will send you an email asking for them.

If you've even got to ask, it's a fake.

I guess I was just wondering if someone had a heard of this exact scam.

I would love to smack the barstards around that sent me the email. In fact I hope it was the guy who got shot by his son in the other thread [rofl]
