Default Replace Front wing of Toyota Corolla- How?
There is a nasty dent on the front left wing of my Toyota Corolla 00-2002 model. My local mechanic quoted me a price of £150 if if I can provide a replacement front wing. I have found 1 online for around £30. But now Im thinking of replacing it myself saving me all that money. I was wondering if there are any guides on how to proceed. I had a quick look on Google but didn't find any.

Theres normally a series of bolts on the inner side of the wing (if you open the bonnet and look at the top of the wing from the engine compartment you'll notice them, also there will be some sort of seam sealant under the bolts, you'll have to unbolt the spray deflectors from the inner part of the wheel arch (unless its a cheap ass car) then the bottom rear part of the arch will be bolted too.

you could work it out by tracing the bolts and the joints around the arch

sometimes though, the bottom rear half of the arch is spot welded as well as bolted .

also you'll have to re apply the seam sealant and re align the arch so that there's equal gaps when the bonnet mates to that arch

looks like your going to have to detach the front bumper too or at least loosen it so you can jig it around

I was told by a friend I would have to remove the bumper as well and from what you have said OHP, it might be too big of a job to be worth the hassle.

There are often additional bolts in the lower "A" pillar, where the door hinges are.
The adhesive can be difficult to break free and it's easy to confuse that with a missed bolt, and vice versa!

oh you could do it,but once you got the part, taken time to remove it,gotten the sealant (quite expensive) then fitted the new wing (without damaging it) you may as well have taken the hit (financially) and let the dude do it.
