Default 2011 Ford Explorer
It looks like Ford is raising the bar for American automarkers with this new SUV.
2.0 240HP engine and a 3.6L 290HP engine available. All the new options are really neat too like inflatable seat belts...

They copied the Terrain Management System from Land Rover.

looks nice though. Foird has been making some good looking cars in the past year.

Ford owned Land Rover up until a year or two ago...

I actually really like the look of this car. I live in Metro Detroit, so I get to see a lot of their test cars driving around the city. I think I like the look of the Edge better, as the Explorer and other huge SUVs just don't appeal to me. But it looks much better than the Flex. I'm not sure what happened there.

I'm curious to know what the fuel economy is on it. I looked but didn't come across it on Ford's website. I'm sure it has to be quite decent considering it's an SUV

From the "fine print":
*19 city mpg EcoBoost FWD, based on Ford preliminary testing: pending EPA certification. I'm guessing it will see nearly 25 mpg highway based on that city figure for such a heavy vehicle (if the ford testing is similar to EPA city cycle)

I don't know why they call it ECOboost. It's a nice powerful 2 litre engine, but not exactly an economical choice (or maybe it is in the US?)
