I would still think over-taking is a problem. If you can't see the road ahead, it's no good no matter what BHP you have.

I drove a LHD 4x4 in this country once and it was a nightmare to see around anything unless on a really wide a-road where sticking your nose out won't end immediately in a head-on collision. God knows what it's like in a low-slung sports car.

While I love Clarkson, I know not to take him too seriously. He doesn't really like to consider his opinions. With the globalisation of car manufacture, most cars share some parts with others in the parent company.

The expression is "cheap and nasty", however as long as that's what the customer wants, that's going to be what they get!
Others can simply pay a small premium and buy an import - that's probably also made in the US.

Well tbh I'm only toying with the idea... looking at the options. It's not for lack of wanting to keep the Roush, but if the combination of lack of doors, boot and isofix-base compatibility turns out to be a pain, I'll have no choice.

To be honest I think car standards in general may have dropped. While some things are ridiculous like tail light sockets in 2nd generation Grand Cherokees that melt due to the heat of the bulb I find the 'craftsmanship' in my wife's Altima to be lacking. The doors feel terribly light (windows shake when closing the door) and the plastic on the dash has cracked in a couple of places and rattles at times.

well, next Saturday I'll test the Isofix base + seat. If it fits, it'll be easier: Just take out the whole seat, no fiddling with seatbelts and crap... But if it doesn't...
