That's essentially a Chrysler 300C is it not? A car I like, even though they're a bit nasty really. I still wouldn't rally replace the Mustang with that though. Can the missus not get a kiddy carrier type of car?

So you want to go from a ford that handles well (Roush) to a Dodge that is poor quality and handles horribly?

I'd definitely stay with the Roush unless you're having triplets...

Is it really that bad?

Well tbh I'm only toying with the idea... looking at the options. It's not for lack of wanting to keep the Roush, but if the combination of lack of doors, boot and isofix-base compatibility turns out to be a pain, I'll have no choice.

Oh well, I guess I could go for a Volvo V50 T5... Oh and I hate RHD.

A8? I've been looking at either that or an XF for the next "family" car.

How do you find driving a Mustang in London?

And why the RHD hate?

I don't understand. I mean, I could understand hating LHD in a country where everyone drives on the left, and RHD in a country where everyone drives on the right, but in England having LHD is awkward and makes overtaking more difficult. Have I missed something?

Kyros - we have a 300c as a courtesy car at work for picking people up from the station etc, it looks nice on the outside but it's soooooooooo cheesy on the inside.

Exactly what I was thinking, in the US I have LHD cars (even manual) and in the UK I have RHD. It just works!

I would never want to switch them up!

I'm gonna tell you why "it works".

It's because imo switching from RHD to LHD is natural. The other way around is not.
Cars have not been designed for RHD. Only adapted. Gearbox isn't mirrored. First gear furthest away from you is an aberration. Have you noticed you can't signal AND change gear at the same time because both actions are supposed to be done with the left hand?

Thing is, if I was buying a cheap family car, I would say "*** it". I'll just buy RHD. But if I want to spend money and buy a performance car I want it to feel right. I just don't like RHD.

Oh and trust me, overtaking is not a problem even for a LHD if you got 400+bhp...

A8? I've been looking at either that or an XF for the next "family" car.
I'm probably gonna go all the way, i.e. wagon, not just 5-door. More space is good. And I'm just not an SUV fan... Guess if I found a good deal on a used LHD 335i MTouring or M5 Touring I would consider it too...

Get a nice, economical wagon for the missus that can double as the family car and keep the toy for yourself - but let her use it occassionally.
BTW, I hope you take it along to the odd track day and 1/4 mile event - it's not safe to life or licence to give it a good run on public roads.

That Dodge is an abomination. How can a car made in 2007 get away with that communist-Russia interior.

Get something like this instead. Its an auto so you dont have to worry about indicating and changing gear at the same time

Guess it doesn't matter round London much, but a 6.1 litre V8 Petrol, I can't even begin to imagine how expensive to run that would be, Gotta be sub 20 mpg. [thumbdown]

I would still think over-taking is a problem. If you can't see the road ahead, it's no good no matter what BHP you have.
