I have, numerous times for different reasons. One off the top of my head was because a car was driving on the wrong side of a two lane highway barely missing oncoming cars. I called 911 and the Highway Patrol came out and stopped the car. I stopped too, turned out it was a tourist couple from France who were confused lol.

once... neighbor decided to burn her house down at 11:30 at night.
Her excuse "Oh i was painting and burning candles in the same room and i was hungry so i left the candles burning in a room full of wet paint and left to go to town to get a pizza" she got away with it too... then she killed herself about 6 months later, ****ed up situation no doubt |

You'd be surprised at how many crank calls they get. Most of it is just kids who dial quick then hang up right away. What sucks is the dispatch center immediately knows where they are calling from and HAVE to dispatch an officer on scene to check things out just in case there really is an emergency. It's not like on TV where it takes 30 seconds to track someone. |
