Oprah Winfrey has ruined it. I wanted her to be good, and though I think she is a spawn of satan, I am not holding that against her. She just sucks. She over pronounces her words, has little emotion and has ruined a show that would be wonderful with Sigorny Weaver, Morgan Freeman or the british voiceover guy. The thing is, everyone I have talked to agrees. Maybe you guys will have a different opinion.

If your talking about the BBC documentry that was on a while ago, why the hell isnt david attenborough doing all the voice work?

Because americans always like to ruin amazing programmes such as this.

Also Life is on blu ray and dvd over here already lol (and yes its awesome)

Americans should just get the English BBC version and forget about the Discovery version.

I will buy it one day, ill probly get "Life in Cold Blooded" and "Blue Planet" first.
Edit - its disguisting that they edit the original "Life" David Attenborough is the man and hes been doing this all his life, i love Freemans voice but why the hell would he take Attenboroughs place, the less i say about Oprah doing it better for everyone reading this.

Not sure why they bother changing the voice, David Attenborough is easily the most suited person whether you are american or english.

Reminds me when i watch the UK version of Mythbusters ( American version with english voiceover dude ) its absolutely terrible, purely because the english voiceover does not suit such a stupid American show, the original US version is so much better...

Yeah, I'm still watching and loving the show, but Oprah definitely brings it down. The tone of her voice and the words she chooses to emphasize makes me feel like I'm watching a little kids show.

Don't fret though guys, the BBC/David Attenborough version is being released on Blu-ray day-and-date with the US version in June.
