Refuelling and tyre changes aren't needed to keep things interesting (neither happen with MotoGP, for example) - the real issue is the obsessive chasing of aerodynamics. As canberraKarter said, they need to look at massively improving the mechanical grip and reducing the downforce, if they want wheel-to-wheel races on every track.

Exactly! with aero', getting even a little bit out of shape means a big grip drop - so they're very carefull with corner entry and for whatever reason, this year they're having even more trouble following closely as that is also really damaging the aero' and grip/balance.

This is car racing, ive always felt there was too much emphasis on aerodynamics development...face it even our high performance road cars (except things like that Caparo F1) dont really have the kind of wings and spoilers they use in F1.

I say, more drastic cuts on aero and they should leave refuelling and tire size and engines alone cause thats what racing cars is about.
Aero has gone as far as it can for cars anyway, theres no need to keep pushing that area further. Id like to see them bring turbos back or at least increase the RPM limits.

Well, they tried the turbo effect with KERS to some extent... but I don't think it'd bring anything. It's really the aero and the tyres that are the culprit at the moment.
