Default Netflix - how does que work?
My roommate has a netflix plan. His current plan is 1 movie out at a time with unlimited switches. I am considering getting a plan. Instead of having two people in the same house with two plans, I figured we would get a better deal by having 1 larger plan (saves $). We are looking at the 2 dvd's out at a time plan but is there any way that we could configure two different ques on the plan? Essentially make it so that 1 movies always comes from his que and the other always comes from mine?

Yes. You can allocate 1 DVD per plan so that one will always come from his queue and one from yours.

Go your your account settings, click "Account Profiles", and then click "Reassign DVD's." There you can set 1 DVD per account to add up to a 2 DVD overall total.

The link alltoohumanuk sent you is way out of date.

you beat me to it. That is the best way to go if you have multiple people in the house. I am thinking about doing that for me and my wife because we end up getting 4 or 5 movies in a row sometimes that the other has no interest in at all, like when I got the firefly series and the tick live action series all in a row. We are also bad to stop by redbox or the local store and rent movies that the other has added to the que without realizing it, and then getting it in the mail 2 or 3 days after watching it. I actually got the hangover from netflix the same night that I rented at the store because I completely forgot about it being in the que. I added it while it was still in the theater.

man that's hot, I didn't know you could setup the individual queues / profiles. Is there any way to clear the suggestions / ratings once you've setup the two separate profiles? I've gone in and put in my taste preferences, but my girlfriend and I always put in ratings for movies and they ended up combining into a horrible mash of suggestions (since we both like fairly different movies).

AFAIK, all your ratings and watched items stay as yours only. Make sure when you want to rate movies, that you are on your profile. On the top you can click the pulldown where your name is and make sure you are on your profile before doing anything else.
