Default Noob calling question...
I'm with o2 on a contract (800 minutes/1600 texts), as you know I live in Scotland, I guess it would charge me if I tried to phone a friend in England rather than take minutes off my contract?

I wouldn't have thought so, we're all one country.

Usually it's what numbers start with. I'm with T-mobile which my free minutes cover any number starting with 01 or 02. That covered Northern Ireland (which is what I had phoned them up to ask).

What do Scottish numbers start with? If it's 01 or 02 then free minutes will deffo work rining England...

Well the area code for me here in Edinburgh is '0131'...I'll be calling a mobile that's in England if it's any different, not a house number...

(Thanks for all the replies so far peeps).

I think it should be fine, you only get charged for other countries rates (mobiles) when it has a country prefix before it. Ring the free o2 number if you still have doubts (dial 202 from your phone)

Scotland is a different country from England (but we're all one county called the UK, if you see what I mean). That's what was concerning him.
