Have to log in to view, any chance of a general gist of it? The gist is user requires instructions as to why their smoke alarm is making intermittent noises, then instructions on if the battery can be replaced, and then instructions on where to buy said battery. Said battery is standard PP3 9V type as used in most, if not all, smoke alarms. how on earth can anyone reach adulthood without knowing how to buy a battery ![]() |

I don't feel like clicking on the link, but I remember when I bought a new multimeter last year I had to buy a 9 volt battery. It kind of dawned on me that the last time I'd needed to buy a 9 volt battery was probably over 20 years ago.
Then I got to thinking about the things I've owned that used 9 volt batteries, and the only three other things I could come up with is the Coleco Electronic Quarterback, a remote control for a remote control car, and the battery backup on my alarm clock (though I've never gotten around to buying one for my alarm clock). It stands to reason a younger person could get into his 20s or even 30s without needing a 9v battery, or knowing what it was. |
