Default Windows Phone 7 unveiled
Windows mobile version 7 has been previewed today at the Mobile World Congress (http://gizmodo.com/5471805/windows-p...yline=true&s=i).

Going by the article it does sound very promising. And seeing how most companies now seem to be using the iphone interface as reference, its refreshing to see they have gone with an original UI (the Xbox Live integration sounds like a cool feature).

Of course these phones always sound good on paper but (imo) end up falling short in comparison to the iphone's UI when actually using them. Either way im hoping i'll be able to upgrade my HD2 to WinMo 7 (I'm sure I read somewhere that a minimum requirement for 7 will be the Nvidia Tegra chipset).

Hardware's going to be a big factor in terms of desireability but it looks awesome so far. Totally nuking the old WinMo way of interfacing with the phone is exactly the right move to make for Microsoft.

I'm not sure what to make of those scrolling landscape menus.

Here's a 7min hands on video. Not as impressed as the initial article made it out to be, too much animation and the font size is too big.

Looks promising. To be honest anything Microsoft could have done would be an improvement on the awful WinMo OS, but this looks pretty cool.
