Default UK fuel duty petition
Someone on Pistonheads has started a petition to try and get Fuel duty reduced. Its not got to many signatures on it at the moment so I thought I would give it some publicity here. Link at the bottom if anyone is interested.

"We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Fuel duty
reduction, now VAT has increased to 17.5%, please deduct the
duty which was levied when vat was reduced to 15%.

When vat was reduced to 15% in January '09 your chancellor
levied an extra 2p per litre of fuel, to compensate for the
loss of revenue from the vat reduction, now that vat has now
gone back to 17.5% we think it only fair that you reduce the
the duty again by the same amount, ie 2p per litre."

Very very rarely, but I signed up anyway.... slightly better than sitting on my arse doing nothing.

Why were there so many protests when it approached £1/L but now it's gone over and keeps on climbing no-one says a thing [thumbdown]

Because once their spirit has been broken they stop caring. It's like people who get beat up. The first time you put up a fight. The second you might yell. After that you just take your beatings.
