Default Family dog had to be put to sleep

Goodbye Arnie.

That's a fairly old picture, but he's the Golden Retriever mix pictured (that was taken many years ago). He had lived a good life for 13 years, but these last few months he had really slowed down. He stopped eating, he had trouble getting up by himself, and he was having trouble breathing. The vet did blood work and x-rays and determined it was liver cancer. At his age, the treatments just aren't worth it. He is pretty much at his life expectancy, and even if the treatment could prolong his life, he would still be suffering through the end of it anyway.

Been through the same, it's a big loss, but you can comfort yourself knowing he had a good life, and that's because he had such an awesome family to take care of him.
it's hard to say goodbye whatsoever though.

Heck, that sucks - I found the loss of pets to be harder than the loss of family members.

Its hard mate but its for the best, you've had 13 wonderful years together that you will never forget. I still have my last dogs ashes in a casket in a unit in the back room, cant bring myself to scatter them yet

We don't have any children so ours dogs are our world and there's nothing harder than letting one go

Rip Arnie.

Im sorry for your loss, I know it will be hard when my 2 little ones will go. You just want them to live forever. Just remember the good times.

We had a dog put down a few years ago. She was a similar age and had similar problems. It's ****, but just takes time.
