Good luck trying to get anything Disney. They have that stupid disney vault and somethings choose never to release things.

I heard on the radio the other day that Disney was bringing that back to Disneyland. Funny, I thought of you when I heard it.

Anyways,

yeah dude, i am totally homophobic. Look at all my posts. It is nothing but "gays suck" and "i hate gays" over and over and over again.

Justify it all you want with what you wish the term meant instead of what it means. All those posts you quoted, said it was a tune from a musical. Everyone of them. It didn't say it was a theme song or a soundtrack or any other gibberish you have tried to pass it off as. A showtune is a song from a musical. google top 100 showtunes, and then point to one listed that isn't from a musical. Good luck with that.

And please make note, not once have i called you a homosexual or even gay. I did say ghey, which is internet speak for calling you a little girl, which i stick to. You are a little girl who listens to showtunes to stop your tears when your depressed.
You still haven't show anything that eliminates movie music from the "showtune" category.

You were listening to showtunes and then wanted to watch the Lion King?

That's pretty gay in my book.

and you have yet to show anything that adds movie music that isn't from a musical. Maybe it is because movie music has a name. That name, is a soundtrack. Had you properly used the correct term soundtrack instead of the incorrect term show tune, this would not of happened. Unfortunately for you, you said and i quote

I am feeling depressed. I was listening to some Show tunes on a random playlist and thus you screamed to the forum that you have a big, fat, messy mangina. I didn't do it, you did. Though, with the name The_Fruity_One, should anyone here be suprised that you have a big, fat, messy mangina? I doubt it.

....

I can go on, but there are MANY good scores out there that were written for movies.

Hans Zimmer
John Williams
Alan Sylvestri
etc...
I'm placing you on my ignore list, for failing to list Maurice Jarre (Laurence of Arabia, Dr Zhivago, Dead Poets Society) and Vangelis!

But film scores are meant to be enjoyed with films, no?

Guess what?! Not everyone enjoys the same thing, and bringing someones sexuality into it is the most stupidest thing I've heard.

Now recently, some forum members are getting beyond a joke and asking to be banned.

Continue your pathetic antics and you will be gone - no ifs, or buts; I'm past caring now.

That is your final warning.

There are very few "original" film scores that genuinely make a decent stand-alone soundtrack. Off the top of my head, I'd include a few Vangelis (if you like electronic) maybe Bladerunner for example. Also Tangerine Dream's Risky Business or Miracle Mile - there maybe one or two others.

I used to like listening to film scores when I was a kid, because we didn't have a TV so I only saw films at the cinema, so would like hearing them again.

... some childhood boohoos there! FM is all group therapy y'know.

I'm putting you on my ignore list for not listing Jacob's Ladder!

I will say that the standout film scores can be heavily enjoyed outside of their cinema context.

Manifest nonsense. How do you expect to be taken seriously when when you praise Vangelis over the likes of Zbigniew Preisner, Bernard Hermann, George Delerue, Angelo Badalamenti, or Nino Rota?

Not saying I'd pay to hear their music at BAM, but I'd sooner listen to their scores than any of the random mediocrities passing as music on the radio these days.

So true. What would life have been like if he hadn't written the fantastic score to National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation?

I wasn't praising him over anyone, just opining my personal tastes. Badalamenti's Twin Peaks was interesting, although it will send you into a voluntary coma if you listen to it standalone.

Not saying I'd pay to hear their music at BAM, but I'd sooner listen to their scores than any of the random mediocrities passing as music on the radio these days. Vangelis is hardly "pop" music, but I agree with your sentiment as it happens, even if my taste differs somewhat.

Still great. Considering he's David's workhorse. Blue Velvet and Mulholland Dr. would not have been the same movie without him.

His score for Mulholland still sends chills down my spine. What a great piece of cinema.

I was just egging him for not including Jacob's Ladder, one of my favorite of Jarre. Of course there are other amazing films and composers.

I totally forgot he did that score. Forgettable film for me I'm afraid.
