This is the WORST advice EVER. Off course I may be totally off, but if that was the case I would risk it and couldn't care what anyone says. He was a fricken idiot for speeding in the first place but unless he does it again or get's caught a second time which is highly unlikely then what's the big deal. Almost EVERY single time I've heard of someone losing their license and still driving someone else has to ALWAYS bring up the case of an accident yet I've NEVER heard of a single time where someone with a suspended license has crashed a car. I've only ever heard of suspended drivers being caught speeding or drink driving whilst being suspended. Honestly Little_Lenny, I may be giving bad advice, but Your going to be FAR more stressfull without a car by the sounds of things, your probably gonna lose your girl and your parents probably gonna be pissed and all hells gonna break lose. This happened to my pop for one month and he decided to start driving illegally again. It solved everything and he never got busted as he drove safely obeying all road rules. It saved so much hassle as my nan is highly over-weight and cannot drive herself and has no-one else to bring home food or pay for rent or get medication or anything. |

I wonder if you can still ride a motorbike with a suspended car license edit: oh you cant drive mopeds either.. Its weird though most people here who have gone over the 50km/h break get their license back after 2 weeks unless they have a bad driving history.. 6 months for 43km/h thats just crazy.. 6 months of alternative transport is very expensive not to mention the fine |

This is the WORST advice EVER. I will admit I have lost my license many times and have only recently got my full license back after ten years of having my license (which means you can have .05 blood alcohol and drive at 110kph, at least in my state, been on P's the whole time with a couple periods where I couldn't drive at all). I think you are full of it if you can't manage to survive without it. I never ever drove without my license, sure it was very hard but I managed it. Public transport is a lot better in Melbourne than it is here. You can not ride a motorbike or scooter when you have had your license suspended either. Suck it up and obey the law. [surrender] |

Suck it up and obey the law. [surrender] And like I said, I personally wouldn't drive a car myself, but some of the jobs I've been applying for are over 70km away cause I can't get any close to home and no public transport goes that far. I'm talking Newcastle to Central Coast. And if I lose my license I might as well kiss my job good-bye if I end up getting one down there. Or break the law and drive anyways. And yes,m road rules are VERY strict here, lucky it wasn't double demerit points otherwise he would have lost his license for good and have to wait a full 12 months to get it back. |

actually if you cause an accident when you're not insured you still have to pay (from your own money)..it wont just go to the other driver when its not his/her fault. That's a tad funny saying this after typing up your first paragraph[rofl]. You a bit of a lead foot or something? |

if you live here in Maryland... 3 things could happen...
As a first speeding offense going 88 in a 55mph area you would: a) If the cop does not show up at court it would be COMPLELTEY dropped and pay 25 dollar court fee. b) If cop showed up and you said guilty with explanation then the points would be dropped to 2 and fee dropped but pay court fee of 25 dollars. c) Dropped to 4 points and sent to driving school, pay half fine and pay court fees (only if this is a repeated offense). D) if you get suspended then you must prove to the judge that you require your license to work (or school) and support your self because public transport is not an option (too far, not in the area, far too expensive/taxi) and they will allow you to use your license to go to work. If you are caught outside of your working hours driving then you are in DEEP ****. They put a curfew on your license. If you are caught during work hours away from your route to work you are also in DEEP **** If they dont give you a restricted/curfew license to get to and back from work in Australia then damn... Australia sucks. |

I just don't know how I can survive living here if I don't have a car. The only option is to move back in the city and might aswell sell the ****ing car so it doesn't cost me anything. You shouldn't risk driving with no license though... You're possible girlfriend to be will think your a jerk tbh. So i reckon you appeal and explain your stress and situation and explain how you dont drive like that under normal circumstances, then ask for a driver training course and a fine instead of a ban.. ![]() Might aswell try it, or something along those lines. Either that or a moped ![]() |

Right, and your advice or leaving him at home without a car or any means of transport as public transport normally don't travel along freeways and taxis are incredibly expensive and no-one to drive him. He is going to be royally f*cked over with no license, no car, a fine and possibly miss work so no income to pay the fine. |

hmm I think I've worked out a way to get to work. Infact it might be better than parking at the station I think. In terms of getting your car stolen and wasting petrol to get there.
There is a bus near a supermarket that takes me to the station. So I will drive to the supermarket. I would have to be super unlucky to get caught driving there as it's a 2 minute drive. The thing was I wasn't doing 143 the whole way, for the most part I was on the limit. It was just a burst of speed in anger, on a 4 lane freeway. The road was pretty empty if the lanes were not clear I wouldn't do it. I'll say I'm lucky it could have been worse, I hit around 190, then just let the car decelerate. I don't typically do these things for fun, I do it to blow steam because I'm angry. I guess my temper just bit me in the arse. Oh well so much for Xmas then. I'll need someone that loves me to pick me up. ![]() |

When you go out and drive, no matter the distance, I hope you get caught. Maybe this will teach you a lesson to control yourself when being in a car @ any mood. Yes everyone speeds now and then. Some more than others. But to just blow off steam by putting down the gaspedal is wrong. Hope you learned from this. And my advice is, be honest to your new girl friend. Liars enough in this world already and the ones who lie.. never get away with it in the end. |
