Given the size of the universe I think it's be amazingly unlikely there isn't life elsewhere in the universe. The indication that there was life thousands of years ago on one of our nearest celestial neighbours just makes it all the more likely.
Pretty much my thoughts exactly. The universe is so insanely massive that it would be jaw droppingly surprising to not find any other lifeforms out there, even if it's just single celled.
