I used to love the Equaliser but he was also a very good film actor. I remember seeing him on a chat show once and he said of his name it sounded like when you fart in the bath lol.

If you removed the "ward" from his name, he would be "Ed Wood". Losing him was a huge blow to the artist community and for that I mourn.

Got a bit of a shock, myself, when I heard the news - his spy series "Callan" from the sixties is still one of the best ever. The movie had one of my favourite lines - his decrepid 'friend', Lonely, was being threatened by a couple of thugs. Callan went to see them and on returning, Lonely asked what happened - Callan's reply - "I hit them, and they died of it!".
