Default Future of British GP in doubt....again.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/moto...ne/8300268.stm

Well it looks like the Donnigton plans have fallen through, and (despite what Bernie said a few months ago) it's not certain if Silverstone will get to stage it either!

This whole furore just makes me angry with Gillet. I love Donny as a track and a venue, watched loads of varying racing there and I was absolutely ecstatic that Donny would get F1 soon.

Now it looks like they've got no F1, no MotoGP and millions of pounds of development going on which wont be able to be paid for. Which cynically leads to the real prospect of having to sell the site and some smegheads like Bovis slapping houses all over it

How could he go into a project like this without the financial backing needed to make it happen???

I said it before and ill say it again, its a complete insult to not have a British F1 GP on the calendar.
With 10 drivers titles won by British drivers, and over 30 constructors titles won by British teams if anything F1 owes it to make sure the British GP stays.

The biggest issue I have with this isn't that we could lose the UK GP (which was been an interesting race pretty much every year I have been watching), but that they keep replacing the good old tracks with boring new ones. Like the Singapore night race and the European GP at Valencia.

Yeah it's crazy stuff, I love going to Silverstone and try to go every year if possible. It's such a great weekend, ass tons of beer, chilling with friends, the Red Arrows, did I mention ass tons of beer? And great racing!

And now with back-to-back British champions along with sellout crowds (unlike other GPs) Bernie has truly gone mad if he thinks dropping the British GP from the calender is a good idea. [no]

It's over for Donnington, it's official: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/moto...ne/8332525.stm

Let's hope a deal can be struck with Silverstone now.
