I know that you like metal, but, do you like other genres too?

I use winamp to make playlists and then drag them onto my mp3 player. As far as suggestions, i have all my songs rated in winamp. Then i have it only show me 4 and 5 star songs. and then when i make a playlist i just pick a few bands with a similar style/genre. Very convenient and i find myself skipping songs rarely.

Oh, I was confused. I thought you were looking for other types of music to listen to.

Now, I am even more confused. How do you expect us to partition YOUR music selection for you? Especially without a list...

Why not limit yourself to one song from each artist? That could be fun. Or break up your music into TOOL and not-TOOL. I do that.

heh, i dont think i want to rate 1600 songs. i like that idea though because i skip like 10 songs in a row before i find one i want to listen too at the time. only having an 8gig nano makes me filter out a lot of crap though and i just got a ton of new music last night so ive been having to get rid of a lot.

like i have a 'groove metal' playlists (which is easily my favorite genre of any music) but there is still plenty of songs i would skip. too bad itunes hasnt evolved into some freak technology that can tell your mood from your finger impression/heat like those old school pencils. i think that would be neat

well im not sayin to TELL me what too do but more or less what you do so i can get some kind of general idea on something for me. which is funny because i used to have 311 and non-311 also but listening to the same music since 1994 i found that to get tiresome even though they are my favorite band (well were would be a better phrase as they kinda suck now)

i do like the 1 or 2 songs from each artist of a specific genre, like my favorite 2 songs from each album. hmm not bad!

Its really not as bad as it sounds. I whittled my 4900 songs (a lot is video game music that i dont rate) down to 900 songs and its just a filter. Songs i like but dont really want to listen to often i just leave blank.
