Default Got myself a new car!
Im sorry to say good bye to my beloved Type S.... Its brought me some good times, some bad, and some very very very very good times

I recieved a letter from my local Honda dealership, and they invited me to see their new 59 plate cars, and talk about 2nd hand prices... After spending nearly 4 hours with the salesman, I recieved £13k for my 56 plate blueish silver Type S, and got a bargain of a 59 plate crystal black Type R GT

Ive been given advice to run the engine in for the first 1000 mines, and not drive it like ive stolen it! Thats going to be very very very hard!!!!!

How much on top of your Type S did you pay?

Not bad, I love the interior of these cars, but the exterior, I much prefer the EP3.

But congrats on your purchase! You'll soon won't be able to wipe that VTEC smile off your face. lol.

Yeah was it you moaning about insurance lol.

I was 23 with 2ncb and i paid £1100 with admiral. 24 and 3cb this year and only £695 with Direct Line. Awesome.

On a 70mph motorway run i think i get get 32/33 mpg after its run in a bit.

Yeap, i was moaning a little, was so shocked to be honest! So far im getting around 29-30MPG and thats with cruise control on at steady 70.

Looking forward after ive worn it in, only done around 180 miles so far... 820 until until i can properly drive it

To be honest i just floored mine as soon at it was warm. I had to completely adjust my mentality towards driving cars. Can't be afraid to bounce it off the limiter and keep the rev's high.

I'm thinking about a Milltek catback, Injen CAI and Hondata Flashpro with dyno tuning soon. Maybe. Should be worth 20bhp plus a lot more mid range and torque.

My all time average is 29mpg anyway, and I do virtually no motorway miles, so not bad. Way better than the Focus ST etc.

Not sure how important it is with Honda engines. But if they advise a break in period I'd stick to it. If you don't, you may end up with an engine down on power for the entirety of it's life.

I think it depends on the dealer, as some say "dive it like you stole it" and some like mine gave me advice to not thrash it for the first 1000 miles, no heavy acceleration and don't go into the vtec to often.

Im good with this advice as im loving the car driving it carefully, and i can imagine im going to love it more when i can give her my heavy right foot!

It's best to vary the rev's once its up to temp. If you take it too easy for too long it might never get bedded in properly. The engine is designed to rev like mad in this case.
