When I was a kid my whole room was covered with tapestry of that movie...If that's what the word tapestry means, I'm not english....Anyways I loved it.

I remember seeing this movie as a kid and it was awesome! I remember it being kind of scary too... but I was like 7 or so. I don't know where I saw it because I think the movie came out in 1979 so I would have just been 4 then... and... well, maybe in 1986ish people started to own VCR's.

Anyways, I want to watch it again! Have you seen it? When did you see it and what did you think of it? I'm sure the science in the science fiction of the movie is a little retro, but I still think it'll be good to watch again.

Walt Disney should come out with a re-mastered version, maybe.

[edit] I just found a good clip on youtube. The sound is very good! Much better than I would have guessed for being as old.

I remember the robots B.O.B and V.I.N.C.E.N.T, had toys of them both but the film was a little dark and I thought it was boring but then I thought the same of Return of the Jedi at that time too.

No doubt it'll get a decent Blu-ray release sometime soon.

then... and... well, maybe in 1986ish people started to own VCR's.

Actually there were VCRs in the '70s; we got out first Betamax (remembe them?) one some time in the early '80s

As for the film itself, I loved it as a kid. I had it on video (recorded it off the TV). Although the bit where they're in the vacuum of space without space suits is a bit silly, and thinking about it now the scene where a character is killed by Maximilian drilling into his stomach seems a bit much for a Disney movie.

I have a DVD of the movie and I am not ashamed to say I liked it---but the end was definitely freaky
