Just picked up Ghostbusters for a bargain £12.99 [thumbup] I also got 1600 points for joining up for a HMV card. So once it is fully activated, gonna review the recommendations here and pick another film!

Anyone know what the Skynet Edition of T2 is like ( only £16.99 )

PQ is not as good as the older release (that was selling for around a fiver a while back) the Skynet Edition has DNR applied to it, the image is much softer and less grainy. Go for the old copy.

**** that DVD, I tried for a million billion times to try and get that thing to play and it WOULD NEVER WORK. That was an example of DRM BULLSHIT ruining legit products for people.

Default Need some blu-rays for my new tv?
I have Dark Knight, Casino Royale and Iron Man. What other do you recommend for image quality and of course being a good film!

Agreed!
But dont use it to show off to friends as they use all kinds of filters/effects/grain, use for the awesome show and expeirence it is.

When i got my PS3 and HDTV i signed up to love film got a month free and £20 voucher for Amazon and rented loads of Blu-ray films and quite enjoyed the CG films like Cars, Kung fu panda, Ratatoile and Madagasca 2.

Blockbuster stores are renting 4 blu-rays for a tenner and if get your stamps after you have rented two lots of 4 films you get a free rental so £20 for 9 films, it gives you a chance to enjoy films that you probly wouldnt consider buying.

Any Pixar movie will look amazing. Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, 2001: A Space Odyssey is a revelation. Planet Earth is fantastic. The Matrix Trilogy is to die for... There's a ton of others but that should be enough to get you started.

Ratatouille looks pretty good. Pirates of the Caribbean is pretty amazing.

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/reviews.html - I used to visit this site years ago for BluRay reviews, not been there in a while but it looks like its still going strong. You can arrange movies by their picture quality score too.

Wow, last time I was on it, there were only a handful of blurays with 5 stars but there are loads now!

2 show off the Visuals then I would use...

Transformers
Ironman
Hulk
Batman begins and TDK
King Kong
I Rpbot
Almost any animation---Wall-E, Cars, Kungfu Panda
Casino Royale

My favorite and perhaps it is the atmosphere it creates is the Box Set of Band of Brothers. I have the DVD set as well, but the Band of Brothers is a big time improvement and I just love the visuals as well.

Coraline is stunning to look at, full screen (16:9) and has a 3D (red/blue glasses) copy in there too but as a movie I'm not sure it'd be your thing.

As the guys have said - any Pixar movie is a must have, the razor sharp 'Cars', A Bug's Life or the softer, subtler but equally impressive Wall-E and Ratatouille are a good start.

Wall-E and Ratatouile are both literally absolutely perfect transfers. There isn't a Blu-ray out there that can beat(a few could tie) either of them, as far as AQ/PQ goes.

Blade Runner - Looks absolutely *stunning* and is one of my favourite films
Wall-E - Fantastic movie and looks basically picture perfect
Bolt - Just finished watching this with my lady this evening, not the best movie ever but good childish fun and looks fantastic
30 Days of Night - Has some fantastic night scenes with royal red blood, will really show off a good plasma's black performance
