Gorgeous shotgun. Congrats!

I am a Remington fan however. Been using my dad's 30yo Model 1100 for the past few hunting seasons. It fires 3-inch shells and still kicks a$$. I put a new recoil pad on it and had the barrel opened to Modified.

Actually, I'll be getting it in a day or two. It's on sale at Dicks Sporting Goods with a tru glow red dot scope included.

12ga Mossberg 535 ATS Turkey/Water Fowl combo in Mossy Oak.

Right now at Dicks Sporting Goods, this one is on sale. Originally $450ish or something, now, at $379.00 with a $30.00 mail in rebate to make it finally cost $349.60. It comes with the scope and two barrels.
The Bass Pro shop said they'd match the price and with the Bass Pro credit card, get an additional 10% off. BUT, you don't get the scope or the rebate so I think Dicks still has the better deal. The sale ends on August 29th if I remember correctly.

I chose this gun for it's versatility and Mossberg's are good guns. I was leaning towards the Remington 870, but I like the Mossberg a bit more.

I'll post pictures of mine tomorrow when I get it. I've already made plans to go to the firing range this weekend!. [thumbup]

Should be a fun weekend.

that's awesome! Go into the forest without your camos and you'll look like you're holding an invisible gun, and just when the animals are laughing at how stupid you are you show the the very visible bullets!

The camo look is cool, but it isn't my first choice. The gun is a great multi purpose weapon and that's just the coloration it comes in. All black is cool and so is the wood and blued look.

I recommend a Springfield XD for a handgun. I have one and it's a great gun. They can really take a lot of torture.

Who's Jeff Gordon?

I'll eventually complete my camo set for Turkey hunting, though.

Wild turkeys are actually somewhat cautious and wily birds. Turkey hunting takes a lot of patience. You're thinking of domesticated turkeys, which are almost too large to move around on their own.

You should get a grenade launcher strap with that outfit. You never know when you need to obliterate a hawk's nest or a baby deer or something.

I prefer using my front fender for such scenarios... [thumbup]

If you hit it hard enough, it will get stuck in your front grill and cook while you drive. MMMmmmm venison.

That happened to me once but I think I hit it too hard, the contents of it's guts along with the wet dog smell was quite nauseating.

I was looking at the 870, but got this one instead. I'm going shooting tomorrow and it's going to be fun! Just shooting skeet and some other stationary targets, but it will be fun still.
