Looks pretty cool but I would rather buy a Bowler Nemesis EXR with the 5ltr S/C V8
http://www.bowler-offroad.com/Nem_20...esis%20EXR.pdf ![]() I am sure the F-150 would be good offroad but I grew up with Land Rovers and know how good they are from the "Land Rover Experience". Do pick-ups still run ladder chassis with leaf suspension or have they advanced a little bit now [rofl] I guess there are lots of derogatory terms related to pick-up truck owners aswell. [surrender] Would love to see them in a race [thumbup] |

same here, we use Toyo Hiluxes with 3 litre NA and turbo' diesels and tow 2 ton trailers with them, also use Isuzu light trucks either NA or turbo. Not fast but with our speed limits they can hustle along with the traffic OK on the flat. Not much good on the hills, though, except the turbo Isuzu trucks.
What we use would be severly compromised in the States and I can see why people would have a use for the larger trucks - just a shame they don't have decent diesels, as I said. Got an aquaintance with three Dodge Rams with Cummins turbo diesels that have had various Banks tuning upgrades on them and they're fast AND surprisingly economical. |

Most Americans avoid diesels after they got let down by the horrible offerings from GM in the 1980's (basically GM converted standard petrol V8's to run on diesel which as you can imagine led to them blowing up at around 50,000 miles) |

If people are going to drive a truck, surely they should be filling up at 'truck stops'? I know THEY sell diesel. Most normal gas stations in my area have at least one diesel pump. Diesel is pretty common with the bigger pickup trucks. My pickup runs on regular gas. Diesel costs more and smells, plus I live in a cold climate. |

Ford's have had boxes frame rails for quite a while already... and the suspension, what do you think they should have, a set of coilovers? You do realize that ancient leaf suspension is what enables these trucks to be able to haul thousands of pounds right? Lets face it, pickups aren't for proformance--they're for when you need to haul stuff that wouldn't fit in a car--or some toys. |

That's about as far from a fair compairson as you can get! I would say it's more down to the cost than outright capability. I'm 100% sure a coilsprung pickup will behave better than a leaf sprung one, it's just going to cost more. |

Isn't the new dodge ram coil sprung all round? |

You have to remember that only a relatively small proportion of fuel stations in the united states supply diesel. Misconceptions FTL. |

It's hardly a fair comparison. You are mocking the suspension of a truck by comparing it to an SUV. If you want to compare that Nemesis to something American how's about a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8? btw was only joking about the shock and chassis setups , hence the smilies. |
