Just a heads up for anyone thinking of getting one. Crashes, hangs, complete lack of functionality. You name it!
Seriously. I'm on my third one and I only got connected on 6th August. Long story short, I'm joining the rest of the cool kids and taking an iPhone. Which means I have two. Which is really quite sad. But at least I can play monopoly with myself I guess. |

I have seen a lot of people reporting this recently, but mine (from August 2008 but with the latest firmware) has given me zero problems until about 3 weeks ago when I installed the Google App. The buttons would then freeze and I couldn't do anything apart from scroll around the screen unless hard restarted. I uninstalled the app and everything was fine again, plus Google is my browser home page so I'm not losing anything.
What is the lack of functionality that you are finding? |

I really love mine, nothing like what you've described. There are reports on the web of people complaining about freezing though. |

HTC Hero FTW! [yes]
Have you tried to update the software on the phone at all? http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-...oftware-update I think all of the management where I work use the E71 and none have issues with it. Is it branded? Depending on how brave you feel you will have a much better experience with it by de-branding it: http://themoth.wordpress.com/2009/01...euro1-version/ As it's a work phone its probably not advised to f**k around with the firmware tbh. EDIT - Nokia will probably deny any warranty work if you do debrand it as it reports back what product code you have each time you try to update afaik. |

Nokia has a messaging client that supports HTML, push, exchange, etc. I think it's email.nokia.com or something like that.
As to the reported problems, I've had mine for maybe 10 months now and it's still brilliant. I do occasionally get an odd app crashing, in particular the browser may spontaneously close on some really demanding web pages, but otherwise it's a rock. |

Is it possible you got a bad handset? Ive moved away from the Nokia camp recently, but in all honesty, they were rocked solid handsets. My bosses boss has one and he usually makes things crash by looking at them, but his has been fine.... |

It's academic now, but I can't see exchange support on that link. I was using nokia's mail for exchange but it's rubbish. It doesn't sync the sent items properly and it only syncs inbox items. Not much use for my sub-folder organised mail! |

if you look in the help menu in the mail for exchange it will tell you how to sync sub folders. But the directions it give you... the menus it pionts you to.. dont exist. I don't understand why |
