awesome story canberra! that's cool you're related so close.

NeoAnti57:
Lion-

Although Lions are fairly heavy, thier main attributes are speed, agility and claws. I would say that a very strong person could survive a lion attack, but would be clawed nearly to death. The lion is going to spring at you and dig its claws into you, next it will attempt to bite deep enough to sever a major artery and then hold on untill enough blood has leaked out and you are weak and fatigued...after that it has its way with you. Your only chance after the lion has leaped at you is to grab its front arms and using all of your strength try to bend them out. [rofl]The back claws will be shredding you to death and its jaws will be snapping at you, but a good headbutt might deter the jaw.[rofl]..once the lion is somewhat weakened and the front arms are spread youd have to roll on top of it and put your weight on it. At that point youd have to use your teeth to try to rip anything you can apart.[rofl] Eventually the lion will tire, if you dont first and once big cats realize they have lost they will run away...they have alot of pride and can be embarrassed easily. They mainly want an easy kill and if thier prey resists too much, they cut there losses and run.

Croc-

Id say this would be the easiest, if you survive the intial jaw crunch unscathed, then just straddle its back and [rofl]either start gouging eyes or lifting up on jaws[rofl]...sure not everyone can do that, but out of all of the animals, its the most likely to be survived...running also sounds like a good idea as the croc has no interst in being out of the water. I mean you still have little chance of survival because the initial attack will take most people out immediately. I'm sorry, but these posts are so utterly absurd...I wouldn't know where to start (other than a lion is profoundly more strong than a human...and they typically suffocate thier victims by death grip on the neck...not sever arteries) those wildabeast are probably 10 times more powerful than a human, and lions bring them down no problems.... and a croc.....lifting up on it's jaws?[rofl]

no offense, I'm not trying to be an ass, but you know almost nothing about animal attacks and you're just absurdly speculating and ad libbing.

If a big cat like a lion or tiger attacks you, you probably won't even see it coming and they'd have a death bite on the back or front of your neck before you even knew what happened..
Indeed, out of the four animals the Lion is definitely the one you really wouldn't want to encounter, but at least it would be a quick death...

Plus, even though the the really big male african lions don't hunt that much when they are part of a pride, their primary job is defence and fighting other Lions and intruders, often to the death. Pray that you'd have to deal with a Lioness instead, but even that is such a mismatch against an unarmed human it's not even funny, forget it, just forget it...[xmascandle]

Of course its speculation, but still based on what Ive seen/learned...[rolleyes] All of these animals are immensely stronger and more capable than a human being. All in all any human would stand little to no chance against them at all.

I was talking about the "what if" type stuff and I clearly commented in each scenario that most humans would unlikely be able to do it.

I dont claim to be an expert IN animal attacks, Im only commenting on what Ive heard, seen, learned etc. I did however grow up on a ranch in the country and know basic survival skills and what I typed is "off the top of my head," what I would try to do. BTW my family actually had a grown Lioness, so YES I do know a little about lions...

Ive youve ever watched croc wranglers, they harness the beast by lifting on the jaws.

Ive youve ever watched ANYTHING about lions when they take down thier prey they latch on and wait for it to bleed out into weakness, watch the wildebeasts etc and they are breathing hard...thats right breathing.

I think either you are really misguided and have mistaken what they do in the cartoons, or you are describing the technique really really badly.

You have zero chance of opening a crocs jaws, even little ones have over 1 tonne of force.

But perhaps you are referring to the handlers holding the jaws closed, a human could easily hold a crocs jaws closed. How that helps if you are being attacked and it's already got it's jaws around you I have no idea.
