There isn't any testing during the season, that's the point. Sure it would have had upgrades and such, but really it would have been more helpful than MS driving the 2007 car for practice. 2S a lap slower is just not justifiable. |

Yeah but he must have driven the F1 car during pre-season development, thats my point. IF he could drive it then, he can drive it now. ![]() Badoer was never really a great F1 driver anyway, which is why he is just a test/backup driver. |

Badoer was never really a great F1 driver anyway, which is why he is just a test/backup driver. However he did pretty well (for him) in the race, I'll give him credit for that, at least he finished without binning it totally. F1 cars are ridiculously hard to drive, especially for those who are not competing or getting the fitness level required in any feeder series such as GP2 etc. |

Would you expect a football player to be anywhere near his best after spending 7 months without even touching a football My point is...considering the issues he shouldnt have even been in the F1 car anyway, unless embarassing a top tier team is somehow acceptable. They should have not raced him at all in that state. And they certainly shouldnt race him again after that. The man is like almost 40, he was never good, so really they need to get somebody else cause he isnt going to get better. Im shocked that a test driver can be so bad, with his pace what exactly is he supposed to be testing ? How slow the car can go without stalling ? |

So you are telling me those football players just sat in a chair and didn't do any physical training at all for 6 months, then just ran onto the field and played like nothing happened? BS.
Yes he was slow, and Ferrari made a mistake with him, but obviously MS was their first choice. Don't be daft, 2 seconds slower is not close too stalling. And regarding his pace in testing, he had alot more miles under his belt and testing isn't always about going fast. Alot of it is just testing component failure. |

Badoer DID have physical training (so did the football player he was talking about), so they both were physically able to drive or play...but Badoer didn't do well, his gap was way too large, not on the first day, but he had some laps of practice BEFORE qualifying and the race...so he should have been faster... |

Simply phyiscally training for an F1 driver is not the same as a football player training until back up to full fitness [rolleyes] Gp2 is miles behind F1 the cars are very very different and so is the driving styles. Yet 2 GP2 drivers where at race pace in just 1 race as well...in slower cars than the Ferrari. Also Badoer has driven the F60 before, whereas the GP2 drivers hadnt driven their respective F1 cars. Badoers fitness should have been fine, if he wasnt driving he should have been training to stay fit...like any reserve player in any sport. It was just a joke how bad it was. And he even got penaltys in the pit lane ! He shouldnt have been allowed to race for safety reasons alone... |

Sorry but 2 seconds in racing is massive...no excuses. |
