man that´s gotta be the best friend in the world right their, or one of the richest.
There´s a rule of thumb around here that depending on how close you are to the couple 100 € is pretty much max.
Respect, i´m envious.

That's madness!! (But in an awesome way). Although if he is a true friend what he will have done is drop hints to others so you think that's what he's getting you and in fact he'll just get you a cardboard cut out or something similar

Hopefully not - remember there are some members here who have some serious money and I wouldn't be surprised if some less well off folks have rich friends and/or relations.

My nan bought a 52" widescreen Plasma TV. I must say, unless you have a big room they suck. You can clearly see the pixels when your seated up close and the picture is not clear at all. But when you sit back it looks pretty good.

My Nan wasn't that smart to invest on a huge TV for a small room[no]

Correction: Your nan bought the wrong tv

Trust me there's nothing wrong with having a 50" Pioneer, or even bigger. No matter what size the room is.

I'm sitting 1.5 meters (5 feet) from my 50" Panny plasma, no it isn't ideal, but I can definitely not count the pixels; the picture looks excellent.

And to the OP: You have a friend with money AND taste for electronics, you're a very lucky man [thumbup]

Oh and grats on the upcoming wedding

Perhaps, it's only a Panasonic or whatever, but I'm not sure whether to disagree with you or not. I've yet to come across a single television where I can't see the pixels (not count them cause there's to many) when I'm seated up close. Also seated close you can see pixelation or stair stepping. it only goes away when you move back. It's present on all large TV's, the smaller 1080 TV's have it less noticeable due to having smaller pixels.

Hell yeah man!

I'm getting married in two weeks myself. [thumbup]
Already had the wedding shower and got some neat stuff there. I am excited to see the kind of things that we get. I am not expecting much for some reason, though we have 200 guests coming.

Shoot, I hope that someone for us, one ups your friend, and gets us an OLED!!!
I'll keep dreaming.
