is it a SAW type film?.. but being Japanese i suppose its just a bit too weird. Basically the film plot is essentially.... - Bloke kidnaps a couple. - Bloke Tortures kids - Bloke continues to torture kids. - Film ends There is no character development, there is no real story to the film either. Its simply bloke graduallys cuts up and tortures a young couple. Its one of those films that by the end of it, you left wondering if you missed something entirely...... Maybe I have seen too many horror/gore flicks, but this is not really any more gorey or nasty than Saw, and with the exception of one scene, which is essentially rape, but not violent rape, just....well....odd and well.......... Moving on, the actual violence, well its never as bad as they make it out to really be, I saw the "uncut" edition, and while you do see some violent scenes, its nothing more than you would see in any other "standard" gorey flick like Friday 13th or something like that. You see more violent scenes in something like SAW. In the films defense, It does capture suspense to something happing. I did cringe a few times as something was about to happen, only to be slightly disappointed that you didnt really get to see it happen, only the aftermarth. |
