Default What is the best PC mag?
What is by far the best PC magazine to subscribe to? Looking for something that covers gaming and hardware/software. What do you think?

I think they all suck to be honest. That being said, I remember liking Maximum PC when I had a subscription. There was another one I liked too, but I can't remember the name, I think it had overclocking in the title though. Overclockers Club or something like that? They used to have quite a bit of stuff on OCing and extreme cooling.

Yeah. Thats why I hate the internet. I loved the old days when I could go out and buy my favourite PC magazine and just have a good time reading it in the train or on the plane or at home lying on the bed.

These days every information you read in the magazines are old news to you as you have read them on the internet before. Some might say "then stop surfing the web" but thats a silly advice of course since you need the web for your job too or for games and forums, and always come across interesting bits of information which make you read further.

Yay on the ultimate speed of information the internet brings us, but gone are the cozy times of curling up in your favorite armchair with a good magazine. "Ohh, Mortal Combat is coming out and they tested it on a 486DX vs the Pentium, cool. More on page 41, lets see...!" Aaah... those were the days.

And the game demo's, when you were a poor student, sometimes that was all we had.

Only one I ever considered subscribing too is the now defunct PC Accelerator..I think it died around 1997-1998, I still have the last edition and 2-3 more.

I still have one from '99. It wasnt really a serious PC mag though, mostly half naked girls on PC hardware and stuff like that. (Not that this would take anything away from it of course! [thumbup] )
