Default I'm preserving a piece of british history!
I have part adopted a phonebox in my village that was due to be removed by BT!! [thumbup]

The Parish council have adopted it, and they have allowed me to part adopt it myself, and all I have to do is do basic maintenance on it. Everybody was quite miffed with the idea of it being removed, as it has sat their since the 1930's!!

I noticed it was unlit at night, so I bought a couple of 8w Fluorescent bulbs for it for a couple of quid, and now it is brightly lit, and looks less abandoned! I wonder where I could buy some glass for it from? It has 1 broken window.

A fully refurbished box with the original interior is worth £4150!!

Nice. I bet no one uses it though.

A lot of old style telephone boxes are listed structures. The ones that are left anyway.

Nice though, never seen one that old. Kinda reminds me of the phone booths superman went into when he took of his sunglasses and undressed himself (awesome disguise).

That looks exactly like the phone booth on Serious Sam - Second Encounter. Ah yes my mind is stuck in video games still, good times.

Did you know that the person who designed the red telephone box also designed Battersea Power Station and Bankside Power Station (now Tate Modern)?

We have those here in Malta as well. They're preserved by the local councils.
