Just come back from watching it with my flatmate. We both agreed it was 7/10, my mate thought it was too long. I felt the editing was below par, and some of the stuff did not make sense!

SPOILER***

One minute they were deciding how to get Optimus to Egypt because of the government guy, the next they were on their way! Seems like they missed out how they got around this, prob due to time constraints?

Secondly, the mum and dad getting brought to Egypt for no reason? They were not used as bate, it just seemed pointless! Oh and how long did it take him to make the last 2 miles to Optimus? Freaking ages!

SPOILER END***

The cartoon movie was way better than both the live films imo. I would have much prefferred it had a back story on Cybertron...

I have arranged for me and 13 others to see it this Sunday night at IMAX. While I'm not a huge fan of the first, the fact that it's the 2nd film to use the IMAX screen fully, I'm all in for that. Also the IMAX version has extra scenes that are not in the normal theatrical release. So the movie is slightly longer by a few minutes.

Also on a 50ft high IMAX screen the robots are technically 100% scale according to the film makers.

So we are all looking forward to some big screen action. [thumbup]

I've said this before and I'll say it again, some people are WAAAAY too picky and critical about films.

A film is meant to entertain and I think it did it very well. I loved the film, so much that it was definitely a film I would watch again and worth every penny I spent on the ticket.

And the twins? I thought they were funny but what does that mean to you lot? Probably I'm a guy with terrible sense of humour.

Man.. you people who didn't like it are flipping flat out nuts. That was far and away better than the first one (and I loved the first one). Better story, better action, more robots.. what the hell more do you want?!?!

I had my butt parked in the theater 7 hours early, and I do not regret one moment of it. The movie was everything I was expecting, and damn... [thumbup]

I have not seen it. But the general buzz is looking more like this:

Thats possibly the first critic review I agree with 100% of any movie made.

You are ****ing insane. What gets me even more is the people giving this film 10/10 or saying it's in their top 10 movies of all time! Seriously, how can certain people view this trash as one of the greatest films they've ever seen??? I'm all for people having differing opinions, but there comes a point when i have to question their sanity.

I think it has alot to do with childhood memories,
I loved the whole Transformers trade and tbfh,
I also enjoyed both movies.

I went in expecting:
-Huge robots knocking crap over
-Megan Fox
-Gratuitous explosions
-Lots of Military hardware
-Minimal plot

That's exactly what I got; 2.5 hours of testosterone-filled cinema.

I'd say 8/10 in my book. Well worth the price of admission.

Indeed... I am already there with ya. This movie was much better than the first (including a much better plot), and the ONLY reason people keep giving it crap, is because it has Bay's name on it. Take it off, and people wouldn't care..

Exactly, without Bays name attached nobody would care and it would have been direct to video because its a mediocre film at best.

*sigh*... No, people wouldn't be giving it nearly as much crap as they are. Seriously, what is wrong with some of you? How the hell can you like the first but hate this one? It blows my mind..[thumbdown]

Ignore 'em. Just like most critics reviews I've read, they always rate the boring and snoreville films highly and anything with the slight hint of computer generated graphics they're complete turd according to them.

Not really. It may be that you guys have no idea what a good film is. That said the transformers films are a pitiful exercise in the art of film making. Disregarding any notion of tact, wit, intelligence Michael Bay just blasts away from one scene to the other using a weak storyline, idiotic plots and just throws in pointless distractions which work like magic on the popcorn chomping masses who used to watch the original cartoons when they were younger. People who probably already think that Michael Bay is a celluloid manipulator of genial proportions and every new pop culture reference, flash graphics shot, explosion and the continual smattering of T & A reinforces that opinion.

If it makes you feel any better, I think they are both pretty bad.

Its not like im happy about it, I loved the old Transformers cartoons, I loved GI Joe stuff too tho, so this summer is gearing up to disappoint me twice im sure.

Just returned from the cinema, great movie, loved every second of it! [thumbup]

And cudos to Michael Bay for NOT constructing a stupid cliffhanger like all the other trilogies have them. Waiting for the next movie is alot easier now.

Will watch it again on Saturday.
