What about file format? Should I got for MP3 or what?
Like he said! Forgot to ask BTW is this your 1st iPhone? what do you think so far? I've had mine 2 months and I already think it's the only phone I'll ever want from now on. [thumbup] ![]() |

What about file format? Should I got for MP3 or what? I just can't imagine anything getting better than it. Every time you think someone is catching up Apple release an OS or hardware upgrade and it's back to square one. |

I would use the highest VBR AAC or MP3 setting, either of those will give you the best file size to audio quality ratio. |

What is the benefit of VBR over CBR? I usually rip my CD's at 320 CBR... |

There is very little difference between 320kbps and V0 (highest bit rate VBR) if need be the bitrate can reach 320kbps but usually hovers around 256-280kbps. You would be hard pressed to notice a difference. Since VBR is variable, you can save on space with pretty much identical performance. |

Am I right in thinking that VBR reduces file size because it somehow "recognizes" parts that don't (and do) need to be encoded at the high setting? If space was not a concern of mine, is sticking with CBR fine? |
