Well maybe you should have just been compliant, fought your battle in a court of law, instead of resisting.

Anyways, NO **** it hurts, its a non-lethal way of subduing someone.

It's a sad day when police brutality becomes acceptable.

For the record 351 people (including minors) have died due to taser use in the US. That's quite a lot for something that is supposedly "safe". If any other police action caused the deaths of 351 people serious questions would be asked.

Bullshit! If she would have complied with the cop in the first place, none of that would have happened. She should have signed the ticket and took it to court. Not give the cop attitude. If she was speeding, she deserved the ticket. WTF right does she have to give the cop so much crap over it. She brought that on herself. Nobody else was at fault. In the end, she suffered no injuries so in the situation, the Taser worked just fine.

So what you're saying is that if they believe you broke the law the police have the right to treat you in any way they like? [rolleyes]

The total number of deaths after the use of Taser guns in the US has risen to 351 since June 2001. http://www.amnesty.org/en/news-and-u...ttack-20090323

And unless police regularly shoot people for minor crimes where lives aren't in danger guns are irrelevant.

does anybody realize how many tickets are written in 1 single day around the world.

and 1 is becoming such a deal. she is doing something wrong. and then she does another wrong move refusing to sign the thing. then she does another wrong thing stepping on the road putting both her life and police officers life in danger. and then she resists law enforcement by refusing to cooperate, then resisting arrest.

imagine if this was a young black guy. i bet a lot of you would not be defending this whole thing on the drivers behalf.

being 72 or even 102 is not an excuse. law is the law.

if it was my grandmother i would tell her the same thing. she was being a d*** head. and she deserved it.

If the cop would have put one bullet in his gun, spun the chamber and pulled the trigger, in order to subdue her would you feel the same way? Tasing a 72 year old woman is nothing but russian roulette IMO. Could very easily have killed her.

well too bad you think it is russian roulette because simply

IT ISN'T.

i'm not gonna tell the difference between a bullet and electric shock.

and even that comparison is absolute nonsense ..

bottom line is ..

for you .. your eligible to speed if you are old enough.

or even if you hit a little kid and kill them you shouldnt be punished in any ways because you are old.

Oh ffs. Did I say she didn't break the law? No I didn't! [rolleyes]

But what ever law you break it doesn't give the police the right to assault you. Why is that so difficult for you people to understand?

It doesn't matter if it was a black, green, blue or purple guy, my reaction would be the same.

Umm I still don't see where I said she didn't commit the crime.

Anyway whether she did or not is completely irrelevant. THE POLICE DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO ASSAULT YOU WITH A POTENTIALLY DEADLY WEAPON.

Three hundred and fifty people have died because of taser use, but I guess in your eyes they all "deserved " it. [rolleyes]

Probably did deserve it.

They don't usually just taser people all willy nilly like.

I still think the cop in the video made the right decision.

The old lady was endangering the safety of herself and the officer and wasn't backing down. He wanted to avoid a scuffle that close to the road so he decided to use a taser to stop her in her tracks so she didn't try to get back into her car.

Seems pretty straight forward to me.

I guess in your perfect world the cop would have apologized for the inconvenience to pulling her over and sent her on her way with no ticket.

Stupid!

You're probably right. I mean it's not like they'd taser an elderly woman because she refused to accept a speeding ticket...oh wait...

Right, she refused to accept a speeding ticket, resisted arrest, endangered the lives of the officer and herself, verbally abusive to the officer, and then tried to get back into her car.

The law is the law. No matter your age, gender, ethnicity, etc. She should have never fought the officer trying to give her a ticket. She deserved the ticket FFS. The officer couldn't do much else to get her under control. Better than him bending her bones to put on cuffs while she struggled.
