It's nice that you don't need the ability to multi-task, but others do including me, and no you don't have to "at least go into a menu" for one button access unless you mean the one button to activate the voice feature?
Good to know they fixed features that should have been there from the beginning with 3.0, but it still lacks an actual keyboard.

Obviously I don't own an iphone, it's bad enough having to work with them.
You keep saying you need this and you need that....what do you need multitasking for on a PHONE? I am quite happy to admit I am wrong, but not if your argument revolves around "because I said so".

Not having a physical keyboard is just a matter of opinion. I actually prefer it becuase the iPhone does a pretty good job of knowing what you meant to press whether you pressed it or the key next to it and physical keyboards on smart phones I generally find too small and fiddly. That's down to opinion though and there will never be a winner.

As for they should have been there in the beginning....try and remember that blackberry, palm, nokia etc have been making smartphones for years and years. They are effectively on version 9,000,000 yet Apple are just about to release their 3rd generation of iPhone and people are whingeing that it doesn't do everything that they want. It takes time to get things right. A long time looking at competitors.

This is coming from the guy who said: "Bluetooth support is added in 3.0 but again, it's not something I have missed. It already supports headsets and that's the only thing I have wanted it for."

Poor wording sorry. I should have said full bluetooth support is added in 3.0 but it already supports bluetooth headsets which is the only use I have for bluetooth.

I also don't understand the stink about the virtual keyboard. Now, don't get me wrong - when I didn't have an iPhone myself, I thought it was a terrible idea, and the few times I used someone else's I really didn't like it. As a matter of fact I was about to get the G1 instead, because of the keyboard.

Yet when you actually get the hang of it (takes 2-3 days of using it, at most), you can type REALLY fast... much faster than a hardware keyboard will allow you... with very reasonable accuracy.

I found the same thing. Once you have got used to it it's incredibly fast to type on. As long as you are standing still.

It's weird. People would think nothing of spending a few days learning how to use a new piece of software but if a mobile phone doesn't instantly perform how they expect it's written off.

I'm sorry but to call the iPhone crap just makes you look silly. Yes it has faults but it's acknowledged by pretty much the entire universe that it is the benchmark in usability. The arena is a cool phone but the touchscreen responses are not as good as the iPhone.

The Arena has much better multimedia capabilities than the iPhone but really, have you ever met anyone that wants to do video editing on their phone? The iPhone counters with the app store and iPhone OS and the best touchscreen around.
Apple dropped the ball big time and it will be another couple of gens before we something substantial from them as far as phone/ pda intergration goes.

The best thing on the iphone is the mp3 player, it has a substandard camera, poor shooting options, no flash, no ability to video record, cannot recieve or send MMS texts, cannot forward texts, has a pc dependant basis for uploading contacts, lacks consistant edge or 3g signal on its web and walk feature across the region i live in or infact anywhere we went with the phone, poor network coverage in some areas, browser is great but has one issue never closes windows so you have do do it manually and that can bloat your web browsing speed/ ability, piss poor batery life, is much larger than the standard phone and heavier.

These are just some of the problems or issues so yeah after spending over £300 i think i can call it a piece of **** of i want, you have been sold on it and dont matter what i say but dont jump up and down and attack people who speak out and had crap experiences with it.

As for the great apps that most people are getting mugged off with, most are smoke and mirrors and i will give some examples-

The apps store advertises a great app for sharing the bill at a resturant where you put in the amount of people and the total bill then it tells you what the cost per head is because you cant put that in the calculator?

You can get a great app for taxis availible in your area, ok so why cant yell.com do the same?

Oh or theres the great spirit level app, ok you try keeping a 3g phone on its side while you move the shelf!

Seriously the iPhone is far from perfect and sadly with all the kiss me arses will not evolve as quick as it should do beacuse people keep telling apple how great it is, its not and needs many things fixing and as i said before give it another couple of gens then we will see a phone that will live up to the apple brand name.

Personally I disagree. I own a iPod Touch, a Peek Pronto and regularly use a Samsung WM device for work. I'd take a physical keyboard over the touch keypad on the iPhone. I guess these things can be subjective or just work better for some than others.
