Default Why you should wear a seat belt ...
Found this whilst browsing - I know some say it's better to be thrown clear () but I would suggest this supports my view.

My instructor has some stories with some students from this region.

Given a simulated engine failure, they've taken their hands off the flight controls and prayed to god to save them [shocked]

Caused a few "crap in pants" moments for him, especially given it's a helicopter and letting the controls go can mean things like mast bumping or tail boom strike's followed by a quick death.

I've nothing against religion's, But when you start believing in divine intervention due to your faith instead of relying on your own capacity, then your are an idiot in my book.

Reminds me of that joke of the christian hanging from a cliff over a river.
He prays to god to save him.
When people in a boat comes offering help, he rejects it saying "My faith is with god and he will save me".
Hikers above offer help but again he rejects it, saying the same thing "God will save me".
Eventually he cannot hold on any longer and falls to his death.
When he arrives in heaven he asks god "why did you not save me god" god says "Well I sent you people in a boat, and then I sent some hikers".....

Use what you have folks, wear a seatbelt

As they say, "God helps those who help themselves".

What's that other one...

oh yeh "God doesn't exist"

Nah i'm kiddin don't get started on that lol.

I always wear a seat belt though, first thing i do when i get in a car and i don't even think about doing it. Not every crash is gonna magically fly you out the window to safety.

I'm sure in very rare circumstances that not wearing a seat belt would be beneficial to your life ... 90% of the time though wearing it is better then leaving it off lol.

The Japanese rarely make their children wear seatbelts so you often see them jumping around in the back of cars - it's ridiculous! [no]

If I have a kid it'd be seat belts on or we're never going to f***ing Disney Land, EVER! NOT EVEN THE FRENCH ONE!

I never wear a seatbelt, I have a motorcycle! [surrender]

But then I do wear a helmet, gloves, motorcycle boots, protective clothing etc etc etc... And even then things can end really, really badly. So whenever someone thinks of not wearing a seatbelt, think of what happens to motorcyclists who had an accident. You're not going to come off any better than that.
