Sorry, 63 Vette... http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/loc...,6912369.story

I have pics of him at the McDonalds, but they were on my fiancee's camera so I'll have to coax her into sending them to me...

I myself have a black 2008 Altima Coupe 3.5SE... There's not terribly much you can do with them, even though they share a slightly de-tuned version of the VQ35 Rev Up engine that was in the last 250Z. I've swapped out/in what's available for it aftermarket, but what you can do is limited due to a horribly balanced crank resulting in TREMENDOUS torque steer! (Possibly intentional to keep it from stealing sales from the Z?)

But it's fun, and already has 54,500 miles on it! Right now it has a hole you can pass a football through in the bottom front of it, compliments of the tards from MD state road leaving crap out in the road. It has a few other nicks and dings, so I'm thinking of having the whole thing repainted Nissan's "Super Black" w/ a House of Kolor pearl added to it... We'll see. If I go that route, I'd prolly add the Stillen roof spoiler, rear spoiler and front lip... get the tail lights darkened and a nice tint job on the windows.

Once I plant my feet, get a house, etc I'm gonna pick up a new 370Z, build a shortblock for it and go to town with Turbonetics... We'll see what happens. If I give my fiancee the Coupe, I might pick up a new Maxima as a daily driver since I'm traveling so much, and have the Z as a project. That way we at least have something to haul stuff in, cuz right now we both have coupes!

it has bad torque steer because it has 260lbft torque in a front drive. not sure what crank balance has to do with it? what do you mean?

Hey, while you're at it, how about you stroll down for a fun weekend of "rebuild the Chevy 350 TBI" at my house? Of course, that's when I get the money for the gear I'm wanting to put on it.

The HP isn't the cause of it... read up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torque_steering

Because unless Scion snuck something by me, I don't think the Scion tC UnXpectedError has is RWD...

Dynolicious estimates my crank HP somewhere in the 340 region... Stillen dropped developing products for it not long after it (the Altima Coupe) was released, because anything much over that caused steering issues on acceleration.

So where did you put the body?
lmao. but true, good idea for a thread. I've wanted to do this with my bike for a long time. and now I have HD capability with my TZ5.

torque is the "cause" of it. which is why its called torque steer. its more power being delivered to one wheel then the other. thats it. there is ways to make high torque fwd more manageable. namely equal length driveshafts and limited slip diffs. unfortunately your car has neither.

anyway i just wanted to know what you meant by "crank balance"? i was not aware of any crank issues with the vq35de

Sorry, should have said "drivetrain" instead of crank. My thoughts've been coming out jumbled recently... Was talking to someone about 2nd gen dsms and crankwalk last night.

The Coupe's engine is transversely mounted, unlike the Z. And as a result, the drive shafts like you said are differently sized. (Out of balance as I call them) Though you're POSITIVE about that differential?

they have tcs and vdc which is basically electronic traction control but no mechanical limited slip that im aware of. a helical limited slip unit would be a great upgrade for you if available

The VDC comes with a mechanical LSD, though there's a drop-in helical unit coming out soon...

My Coupe was only ever supposed to hold me over for a while, I had never intended to do anything with it. Ended up keeping it a tad longer than planned, but oh well. It is quite comfy for long trips, as you can guess by the mileage!

yeah my Scion tC is defiantly not a RWD car. the car is based on a awd platform though so people have converted it to RWD already... that mods not something for the faint of heart though lol

anyways i have serious amount of torque steer, 346whp / 342ft/lb at the front wheels without even a LSD isn't always fun when trying to launch it from a stop. even while moving it can be pretty dangerous sometimes if your not paying attention or just being stupid. i just put in stiffer motor mounts and transmission mounts when i installed my lightweight flywheel and performance clutch. that actually seemed to help it out a lot, its not as harsh anymore. it also reduced wheel hop dramatically. still im thinking about making another tune at 8psi to make it a more livable daily driver and using my 10psi tune for the track only.

Both of the toys I played with the most were AWD... A 99 Eclipse GSX and an 03 EVO 8, so this torque steering stuff is relatively new to me. [surrender]

vid of an easy 12.0 run with an easy launch and no powershifting...and a 100 shot of juice....

best last season was 11.7 @ 122 with 125 shot, no powershifting and no hard launches...tired of frying clutches and transmissions to gain a couple of tenths at the strip
